Bank Holiday Weekend

So this weekend in the UK it’s been Bank holiday which means long weekend and it also coincided with my first Saturday off work since February so I thought that today I would share what I got up to!

Friday 26th May

I had Friday off from work and volunteering and the weather was gorgeous so I decided to get out in the sun! Everyone was at work or on holiday so I just decided to read my book on the back garden for a while- obviously it was that hot I had to whip the suncream out because I burn so badly. I started reading Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso which I actually finished on Sunday, it’s really good because she gives helpful advice and inspiration but she’s also naturally funny with some great anecdotes. After it got too hot to sit outside anymore, I walked into town to meet my friend Caitlin where we had a burger and a beer at Bungalows & Bears on Division Street and then headed to Devonshire Green for a few drinks- along with half of Sheffield who had all got the same idea as us.

Still forgetting to delete the captions!

Saturday 27th May

This is definitely the most exciting day of the weekend, and not just because I wasn’t going to work like usual. Me, Josh and Elliott headed to Manchester for the day ahead of seeing Courteeners play at Old Trafford in the evening. We just had some food in Piccadilly Gardens before heading over to the gig. We got there in time to see Blossoms, who were fab and we ended up in a really good (but lairy) area of the crowd reasonably near the front for Courteeners, or as near as you can be when there’s 50,000 other people also there. It was absolutely amazing and one of the best times I’ve seen them play. One of my favourite parts of the night was when Liam and the whole crowd sang Don’t look back in Anger in memory of the victims of the Manchester attacks, it was very emotional and I’ve never heard a crowd sing so loud in my life. After the gig we finally got back home at nearly 2 in the morning with no voice and stinking of other peoples piss but it was worth it.

Sunday 28th May

After a lazy morning, me and Josh headed to Couch for some brunch/dinner and I had a burger which was okay and and Strawberry milkshake which was yummy. After food we headed home to my house and Josh’s house to see our families for a few hours. Whilst I was home I picked up a parcel from Being Sanctuary who had kindly sent me one of their new body mists in the Coconut and Hibiscus scent*. We then headed back to town and whilst we walked from mine to Josh’s I enlisted him into being my personal photographer yet again because I quite liked my warm weather outfit.

Monday 29th  May

We finished off the long weekend with a lazy day recovering from the lack of sleep on Saturday, so we just binge watched Bad Education and I finished my book. Then in the evening I headed back to mine to have a catch up with Amy, Amber and Steven. Not that interesting but sometimes you don’t want to be doing something all the time and the weather was pretty rubbish.

What did you get up to this long weekend? Apologies if you follow me on instagram as I basically documented my whole weekend on my stories, if you don’t why not follow me on there so you don’t have to wait for blog posts to keep you up to date?

Meg x
