I feel like despite this month being the end of summer, I’ve jumped the gun and entered into full autumn mode already. This is obvious from my August favourites which consists of all the components for a cosy night in….in high summer.
So first up is the series that gripped me and Amy from episode one, we thought we were going to have a nice quiet night in watching Happy Valley, after 20 minutes we realised there was no going back and we had to watch the whole 2 series immediately. There are 2 series of 6 episodes, so it doesn’t completely take over your life but there are so many plot twists I got a stress headache just from watching. If you liked Broadchurch and are a fan of the Yorkshire accent this one is for you.
Next another series, this one totally different, Girlboss (available on Netflix) is the tv adaption of the book Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso which I mentioned in my what I got for my birthday post. The series follows the story of Sophia starting up her own business, Nasty Gal, from scratch, it’s funny, light hearted and kinda inspiring. I know some people aren’t keen on Sophia as a character but I really enjoyed the whole series and am hoping for a series 2.
My final watchable favourite of the month is Dunkirk, me and Josh went to The Light Cinema to see it and we were really impressed. I really “enjoyed” it, as much as you can enjoy a film about the subject. It was filmed in such a non-glorified way, all the characters seem so “normal”and the timeline is so cool, although a little confusing to start off with. I would highly recommend watching this while it’s still in the cinema, I would definitely watch it again.
You should know by now that I love tea, the more tea I drink a day the better, this month I’ve been loving the T2 New York Breakfast tea bags, it tastes and smells like Pancakes and Maple Syrup, they are really nice and sweet and the perfect breakfast tea. I don’t really know what else to say, you’ll have to try them to understand what I mean.
When I moved house I did a cheeky Lush haul and for the whole of August I’ve been loving having baths with Lush Bath Bombs, as you can see from my recent empties I’ve already used a few as well as my new Scrubee body scrub/moisturiser which is now up there with my top Lush products ever.
Finally my last favourite of the month has been Manchester, where I went for the Bank Holiday Weekend to celebrate Amy’s 21st birthday. If you want a full run down of what we got up to check out my Bank Holiday Fun post. We ate loads of food, drank loads of cocktails and had a lovely wander round in the sun!
