This year I’ve really got into listening to podcasts, they’re a perfect alternative to watching Youtube when you’re half doing something else. I like to listen to them when I’m walking to Uni, when I’m in the bath and through bluetooth when I’m driving in rush hour (trust me it will improve your journey no end). You can download most of them for free via iTunes so they are great to have on hand for when you have no wifi or for travelling to keep you entertained on flights.
At Home With…
So onto my faves. My favourite one of this year was At Home With…, this series saw 2 of my favourite Bloggers/ Youtubers, Anna Newton and Lily Pebbles head into 10 different guests’ homes and talk to them about their careers in various rooms of their house. This is a super chatty podcast which is easy to listen to with some great guests including Madeline Shaw (Who’s recipes I love), Liz Earle (Who’s skincare I love) and Zoella (Who’s interior taste I love). There are talks of a series 2 which I hope is true because this podcast was literally the highlight of my Wednesday for 10 weeks.
The Lavendaire Lifestyle
This one I discovered via Youtube, Aileen talks about personal growth and gives inspiration to do your best and achieve your goals, whether that be travel or work placements or just anything really! This is a super calm podcast so maybe a good one for in the bath or if you’re feeling a bit stressed or like you need to sort your life out. There are plenty of episodes so theres plenty to be going at once you get into it.
Hey, It’s Okay…
This one is a weekly podcast produced by Glamour Magazine with different guests each time. The episodes usually focus around fashion and issues faced in the workplace and how to gain experience in a certain field. This ones a casual chatty one which doesn’t take too much concentration to listen to so you can easily be washing the pots or driving to work at the same time.
The Heart of It with Estée Lalonde
This is the newest one I’ve started listening to, Estee runs a Youtube channel that I really enjoy and her podcast focusses on things that are important to her. My favourite episode so far was the pilot, where she talked about her first experience with protests and how her views have changed over the years. She talks about her experience as a teenager compared to this year when she was more vocal in protest so I’m really excited for more episodes to come out.
My Dad Wrote a Porno
I’m nowhere near finished with this one so no spoilers please if you have, but basically the hosts read out an erotic novel written by one of their Dad’s and basically take the piss out of each chapter and discuss it. It sounds weird, that’s because it is but it’s very funny so this is a great one if you want to lift your mood- however you may get some funny looks if you start laughing at his Dad’s language choice whilst you’re out in public.
So those are a few of my favourite podcasts to listen to, let me know if you have any suggestions of your favourites that you think I’d like in the comments below.
