So yesterday myself and Danielle headed off for a super lovely afternoon being ladies that lunch. The Botanist kindly invited a group of Sheffield bloggers to come and test out the new Lunch Menu and Cocktails at their Leopold Square bar and restaurant. First of all I’d just like to say that it was the most aesthetically pleasing place I’d ever set foot in, as a blogger I was like a kid in a sweetshop with all the fairy lights, vines and gorgeous cocktails.
It was actually the first time I’d ever been, despite it being there almost a year, so I couldn’t wait to try some of the food. There were 12 of us (plus a baby) so we all got our own main and then ordered all the sides to share so we could try as much as possible and then obviously not forgetting the cocktails. Myself and Danielle and a few others decided to try the Beer-Battered Cod Flatbread Wrap and I was not disappointed, it was like fancy fish and chips but so filling and tasty, as a creature of habit I would probably choose to have it again at some point. Like I said we ordered all the sides (listed below), my favourites were the soups and the Sweet Potato Fries.
Cocktail wise I went for the Kiwi Cup which came in a gorgeous teapot filled with dry ice which was poured over a teacup full of ice so it was kept chilled. As someone who doesn’t like the taste of alcohol this one was brilliant as it was fruity despite containing vodka so it was actually enjoyable to drink. For my second drink I went for the Botanist Pornstar, which essentially is the classic Porn Star Martini which is my usual go-to cocktail/ pitcher. Danielle opted for The Botanist, their signature drink which she said was amazing, followed up by a Pimm’s Cup which was in the same format as the teacup I had.
Not only was the food and drink amazing, it was also lovely to get to know a few other bloggers and actually have time to sit down and chat. There were a few bloggers there including the lovely Kamila from kamzonline.com, who I met at the Student Night, so it was nice to learn a bit more about her and her blog. I also got to meet Shannon from Shannon Alexandra so I’m excited to read some of her content because it looks super interesting and professional. Not to mention it was great to see Megan again who was kind enough to organise the whole lunch and the previous Student Night I mentioned in my September Favourites.
So overall we had a lovely time in the most gorgeous venue, even the toilets were fab! I would definitely go back again for lunch as it wasn’t packed so there was a nice relaxed atmosphere, I’m even thinking of asking my Mum if she wants to go for her birthday in December! Let me know if you’ve been to the Botanist and if you have what was your favourite cocktail?
