Glossier Haul and First Impressions

The time has come, I’ve been waiting and waiting….and waiting. Glossier has hit the UK! I have been lusting after their skincare and makeup products for the best part of a year as they were only available in the US but finally it’s made it’s way across the pond and straight into my basket. I’m a creature of habit and have really scaled back my makeup and skincare routines and collections over the last couple of years, so the fact that I have bought so much really shows how excited I was. I just think the whole brand is up my street, its all about less is more, lightweight makeup and dewy skin, it also seems to be geared towards a dry skin (which is so me) and it’s also cruelty free- RESULT!

I  also just wanted to say before I explain what I bought, how brilliant the service was. I purchased these items on Monday Morning and as I spent over £25 I qualified for free standard delivery (2-5 working days), so it arrived on Thursday morning. I know that you can get express next day delivery too if you’re in a hurry to get your hands on the goods. The best thing about the delivery is that there is no customs charge, I was half expecting to be stung for a hefty bill on the doorstep but it looks like it’s been shipped from a UK warehouse hence the speedy and cheap delivery.

Phase 1 Set

So basically I wanted to buy all 3 items that were included in this kit so it worked out much cheaper to buy it as a pre-made pack. The kit includes;

Milky Jelly Cleanser- This is a face wash which can be used to cleanse or wash the skin, it also reckons to remove non- waterproof makeup, although I have heard reviews saying it’s better to use as a second cleanse after makeup removal so I’ll have to try both. I’ve watched a lot of reviews and nearly all of them say this is a nice gentle cleanser which is good for dry skin so I thought I’d give it a go.

Priming Moisturiser- From what I gather this is a nice daytime moisturiser that can be used on its own or as a primer if you use slightly more before applying your makeup. I’ll have to keep you posted how I get on with it.

Coconut Balm dotcom- So in the kit you get to choose which balm dotcom you like as there are a few different colours/flavours, some are clear and some are scented with a slight tint. I went for the coconut one which is like a clear/ nude colour but smells like a holiday in a tube, I’ve used this a few times already and its super long wearing and moisturising so hopefully this will work well when my lips get super dry in winter.

Stretch Concealer: Shade Light

So after hearing Anna from theannaedit rave on about this product for the last 6 months I decided I better go ahead and try it. It’s a buildable coverage which is dewy and illuminating rather than matte which is what I like in a concealer. I’m thinking this one will be nice for natural makeup days rather than a full blown night out look.

Haloscope in Quartz

This is a stick highlight which I’ve swatched and looks like it’s going to be super dewy on the cheekbones. It has a shimmer as an outer layer but a clear balm in the middle which I’m guessing gives it the dewy effect. This stick comes in 3 colours, Quartz- a very pale, white colour, Moonstone- more champagne colour and Topaz which is more golden.

Boy Brow in clear

This looks similar to Benefit Gimme Brow with a tiny brush to run the product through your brows. I went for clear as I’m always wary of buying Blonde colours online incase they are too warm or ashy and I had a feeling brunette would be too dark for me. I think clear will work well for me on no makeup days or when I’ve had my eyebrows tinted just to keep them in place as they do have a tendency to be slightly unruly if they’re not gelled down.

Cloud Paints in Dusk and Beam

Finally I picked up 2 of the Cloud Paints, I am a huge fan of cream blush, I much prefer them to powders so I thought these would be perfect. Dusk is a gorgeous tawny colour while Beam is more peachy, they can be used alone but I also think I might mix them together on my hand to get a third colour out of the duo. The formula is super creamy and it doesn’t look as if it is going to look patchy if I apply it with my fingertips or a sponge.

So there you have it, that’s everything that I ordered from Glossier, I want to try loads more of their stuff out, especially the skincare like the masks but I thought for now I would try a few bits and then consider another order further down the line. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and if so what are your favourites? Or if you are wanting to try them would you like me to do an update or full review of the range after I’ve had chance to give them a fair test? Let me know in the comments below!

Meg x
