November Favourites

Okay, I don’t want to alarm any of you but it’s basically Christmas. Black Friday is behind us (thank god!) and the only thing that lies ahead is a month of Christmas songs, last minute shopping and hot alcoholic beverages- perfect. So now it’s that time where I let you know what I’ve been loving for the past month!

First up how could I not mention Blue Planet II, I can remember watching the original series a decade ago and that was amazing but this new series…mind blown. I bloody love the ocean, when I was younger I liked to think I was a mermaid and my fascination with the sea has never wavered. The quality of the filming is astounding and I’ve learned so much, David Attenborough is a national treasure and I just can’t get enough of his work. However it did make me really sad to see that in this new series plastic is having such a dreadful effect on our marine life- RECYCLE PEOPLE!!

Next up you may have noticed that my blog has had a makeover recently, the lovely guys over at Blogerize sorted me out with a brand spanking new design and I love it! You’ll have to let me know your thoughts but I much prefer it to before, I think it looks much slicker and it’s just nice to have a change! If you’re a blogger and are wanting to step up your game I would highly recommend getting in touch with the team there as they were super helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them to help with!

On a similar theme to the blog update, I have exciting news…I made a YouTube channel! My first ever video is a vlog of mine and Josh’s trip to Barcelona last month, if you want to check it out you can do so here! Please bare in mind it’s the first time I’ve ever filmed so I might need some practice but I had such a fun time capturing some clips of our holiday and even if only a few people see it, it’s something nice for me to look back on one day.

As we’re on the run up to Christmas, it seemed only right to whip out my festive bedding, this year I went for a cute brushed cotton Bear pattern set from Asda! If you’re after cute, affordable bedding you really should check out the supermarkets as I’ve seen loads of nice ones this year. I went for these camping bears as they are wintery without being all out Christmas and most importantly it’s super cosy.

In terms of beauty I’ve been loving wearing slightly more lipstick than usual, my lips are very dry so usually if I wear a lip colour it’s a nude or pink close to my natural lip colour. However as the weather has turned I’ve been enjoying purples and reds, so much so that I was inspired to share my Lipstick Collection with you earlier this month. My favourite has got to be the Burts Bee’s Satin Lipsticks as they offer a bold colour with extra moisture so are perfect for winter! What’s your favourite lipstick for the festive season?

An event which I really enjoyed this month was my course night out, a group of us that do History at Uni all headed out for a night out as a chance to socialise without being in Uni talking about our assignments. We did it as a shit shirt night so everyone had to come dressed accordingly! I had a really fun night as after Pre-drinks we headed to Tiger Works, Bierkeller and West Street Live (my absolute fave Sheffield night out alongside Leadmill). It’s safe to say me and Danielle were not feeling too fresh on Thursday.

So those are a few things I’ve been loving throughout November, it’s been a very busy month filled with assignments, hence I’ve had to take a week off blogging to get on top of it all (really sorry!), but it’s finally over and done with.  What things have you been loving recently? Do you have any suggestions for me? Let me know in the comments below as I’d love to here from you!

Meg x
