    Sustainable Fashion

Many moons ago I wrote a blog post called Ethical Shopping. Today I thought I would revisit the topic of sustainable fashion because it is still very important. Fast fashion is what we have grown accustomed to, the high street churns out new styles and designs season after season at a low cost. However these items are often poor quality, get thrown away after only a few wears and they also have a damaging impact to many people’s lives that we don’t see. Many large chains use sweat shops in less economically developed countries. Factory employees, work long hours for low pay and often in poor conditions. Low labour costs and…

    Lanzarote Lookbook

So you may or may not know but I have spent the last two weeks, trying, and failing, to get a tan in sunny Lanzarote. It was a thoroughly enjoyable family holiday including lots of beer, dissertation work, good food and good people. So today I thought I would share with you some of my outfits from the trip, a mixture of day and night attire that might give you some inspiration if you happen to be going away soon, a Lanzarote Lookbook if you like. I’d also like to say a quick thanks to my various photographers on this trip, Josh, Mum, Alice, Ellis, Grandad you absolute gems. So…

    Spring Capsule Wardrobe Update

I mentioned in my March To Do List post that one of my aims for the month was to sort out my Spring Capsule Wardrobe. So far I’ve done an Autumn and Winter Capsule which have both worked reasonably well. There have been some stand out pieces in both of these which have kept me cosy and warm in the harsh British weather, and I didn’t find it too difficult to transition from one to the other, as all I needed were a couple of bits of knitwear. However the change from Winter to Spring is much more apparent. Although the weather is not yet boiling, it is certainly set to…

    10 x 10 Wardrobe Challenge

By now you are likely to have picked up on my ramblings about capsule wardrobes and that I’ve been trying to implement my own over the last 6 months or so. The idea is that most items in my wardrobe go together, the choice is less overwhelming and I buy less and only what I need as the seasons change. Pretty simple right? Well I thought I would challenge myself even further over the next couple of weeks. I’ve decided to attempt the 10×10 challenge which was originally started by Style Bee. The concept is to select 10 pieces from your wardrobe which you think work together and wear only…

    Uni Capsule Wardrobe

So you may have noticed a few more fashion posts going up recently so here I am with another one to finish up the Uni series. Anybody at University will know there are a few staple pieces that will see you through from day to night for any occasion. You never know when you might be heading straight from the library to the pub and then somehow find yourself on a night out. So in this post I thought I’d talk about a few keys pieces that have done me no wrong during my time at Uni. Dungaree Dresses These are an absolute staple for me, they can be worn…
